What is the Whaley House?
The Whaley House is a very old house that is said to be haunted. Located in Old Town San Diego, it is said to be one of the most haunted houses in the United States! This old house is said to be the "birthplace of California". This is one of San Diego's most visited destination with over 100,000 visitors that go there, even from around the WORLD!
why was it built?
The house was built originally by Thomas Whaley for his family. It was also the first theatre in San Diego.
When was it built?
The Whaley was built in 1857. It is also estimated that in 1885 Thomas Whaley moved into another home on State Street.
